Science lessons for Year 5 and 6 students have been ‘shocking’ this term. They have been learning about Electricity and Magnetism and how electrical current works. They have looked at various metals and other magnetic materials, and most recently have been learning the differences between simple, series and parallel circuits.
This week, students have been challenged to create their own circuits using a variety of objects such as bulbs, motors, and buzzers – and then draw carefully labelled diagrams using the correct symbols. Using the correct terminology is crucial too! They then swapped diagrams with another group to see if they could recreate each other’s circuits from the diagrams alone.
The results were ‘electrifying’!
