On Wednesday 19 May the Junior School went on a journey through space!
This day was known as Space Day and it was a great opportunity for the Junior School to learn about all things related to space and our solar system.
The day was held in conjunction with Scholastic’s National Simultaneous Storytime. Each year a theme is chosen, and a story is read online where all children from schools around New Zealand and Australia have the opportunity to listen to and enjoy the text being read at the same time.
This year we were lucky enough to be read a story from an astronaut on the International Space Station!
The keen learners in G2 came up with their own ideas about creating their own planet that would fit into our solar system. They came up with some brilliant ways to make their new planet more sustainable for life to thrive.
