Welcome back to a brand new academic year! How wonderful it is to see Middle School students back at school and enthusiastic for the new school year.
It is my pleasure to welcome not only existing families, but the new families that have joined our school this year. I look forward to meeting you all and working with you to support your whānau in 2023.
Middle School is a place for students to develop their independence. Familiarising themselves with new routines, learning to work from their own desk instead of shared tables and taking greater responsibility for their learning are all important parts of becoming a middle school student. Middle School staff encourage all students to be resilient, risk takers not afraid to give things a go, and guide each student on their learning journey.
This year we have eleven classes in the Middle School. In Team 3 there are six Year 3 classes, led by Mr William Howard, and in Team 4 five Year 4 classes led by Miss Elizabeth Hewlett. These well-organised team leaders quickly have routines underway and are enthusiastic about their new role. Happily, each class has a full complement of learners who are looking forward to the journey of discovery and growth that lays ahead.
