The year started off with a bang, and with excitement in the air, it was clear that Middle School was the place to be. Many wonderful opportunities had been planned for our Tamariki and we looked forward to seeing them take part, develop skills and grow during this time.
One of these exciting opportunities took place on Friday 22nd March when the Year 4 girls took part in a girl’s football session hosted by the Bucklands Beach Football Club. The girls were divided into groups from the classrooms and joined coaches from BBFC on the field.
There they were debriefed about their session and divided further into two groups. One group went on to practise skills on handling the ball and dribbling it around cones. The other group was explained the rules of the game and the focus of the session.
The Year 4 girls were then divided into bibs and non-bibs and kicked off a match that one would call “Foot-tastic”!
Throughout the match they were coached, and their skills developed. It was lovely to see the smiles on their faces and how much they had enjoyed the experience!
