As part of our focus for Term One, our Year 1 students looked at ways to be Sun Smart, which includes the wearing of a hat.
Each class came up with criteria on what makes a good protective hat. The children then had to test different materials to find the best solution to suit their criteria. Once they found the best material, they designed and made their hat.
As a fun finale to their learning, each Year 1 student proudly wore their hats in our Year 1 Hat Parade, which was keenly watched by our Year 2 students as well as parents, siblings, grandparents and family friends.
