At the start of Term 4, our Year 3 and 4 girls were bursting with excitement as they joined a group of learners trialing for the 2025 Girls’ Football Team. This opportunity was met with enthusiasm, showing a keen interest in sports across our Middle School. For many, this was their first experience of team trials.
After weeks of dedication and hard work, a development squad was selected, marking the beginning of an exciting journey. The squad is now training under the expert guidance of Amy Edwards-Maas, a respected football coach from Bucklands Beach Football Club. Her knowledge and encouragement are proving invaluable as the team hones their skills and builds confidence.
We are thrilled to see these young athletes flourishing, not just in their football abilities but also in their teamwork and resilience. With a promising start, 2025 looks set to be an outstanding year for girls’ football at Owairoa. Watch this space as these talented players prepare to shine on the pitch.
