Midway through Term 4, Owairoa excitedly reopened its doors and welcomed back its students, ready for half a term of face-to-face interaction, enjoyment and learning. Understanding that we can only operate under certain restrictions, Mother Nature has been kind to all at school so far and has allowed for plenty of outdoor activities and fun in the sun. Nevertheless, plenty has been achieved in the classroom with the students often putting their teachers to shame putting their newfound and mostly elaborate technological skills on show.
In particular, the children of essential workers, who have been attending school five days a week, have shown great independence and determination when it comes to managing themselves and remaining motivated in the classroom, particularly when they are seeing a lesson being taught for the second time!
It has been brilliant being back at school with the students and we look forward to a hopefully more settled school year in 2022.
