Over the past few weeks, the Year 3 students have been learning about Electricity. They have been engaging in lessons that have taken a closer look into the importance of electrical safety, batteries, and various circuits.
For electricity to flow it must have somewhere to flow to. A circuit is a wire that is arranged in a circle for the current to flow along. There may be switches and bulbs along the way. With this in mind, the learners had the challenge of constructing a simple circuit using batteries, insulated wires, and a matched bulb.
The learners worked well in teams. As a group, they were able to make observations, evaluate and make changes to their circuit when a connection was not successful. The students showed great level of engagement and were amazed when their circuit was able to create a current which allowed the bulb to light up.
We are looking forward to more investigations and experiments in Science throughout the rest of the term!
