Every week in the International Parent Class we have a session based on the Weekly Quiz used in the Senior School.
The purpose of this session is for the International Parents to be aware of current events both in New Zealand and overseas, which helps them to support their own children to find the answers, as we identify key words to help with research.
Usually the parents take the activity seriously and enjoy looking up information to find the answers if they don’t already know about the event. The session always generates further discussion, with many opinions being aired and background knowledge shared. Our strategy, if no one has a clue about the questions, is to guess. This can cause a lot of laughter if guesses are completely wrong.
