Over the last two weeks, the Year 1 students have travelled by bus to Te Tuhi in Pakuranga, for an art lesson on Printing. Our focus was ‘I am NZ’, where we learned all about Kiwiana and the different things that make our beautiful country unique.
Three classes went each day to learn new art skills and have a tour of the art gallery. The students enjoyed learning the process of print making and having the hands-on experience.
The students painted their canvas black, drew on Kiwiana images that they had previously researched and then were taught how to etch using a special tool.
The students gave great feedback on the art lesson and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Our Year 2 students are excited to attend in a couple of weeks.
