On Thursday 14th May, the Year 5 and 6 students attended an ANZAC Service by the Flagpole at the front of the school. It was a beautiful service and the new House Leaders did a fantastic job of organising and helping it to run smoothly.
After learning about New Zealand’s involvement in WWI and other conflicts and what our soldiers had to endure, the senior classes have been completing work to show the significance of the day and how that makes us feel.
Room 19 and 22 have been doing some ANZAC artwork, and Room 20 also had some fun writing ANZAC similes.
I witness the gas being shot in the air creating a huge screen of darkness like an octopus squirting ink.
I heard a high pitch and deafening scream coming from the trenches like a squealing baby.
