It is hard to believe that we are getting closer to the end of another school term. And what a busy term it has been, with the learning that has happened.
The Year 2 students have researched a variety of endangered animals, learning about their diet, appearance, habitats, reasons for being threatened and other interesting facts. They have also learned about animal classifications and adaptations.
Now they are in the process of replicating their selected animal’s habitat in a diorama. By engaging in this activity students not only reinforce their knowledge about animal habitats, but they also develop important skills as critical thinking, collaboration and research.
The task will enable the learners to use their imagination and creativity while they work co-operatively to design and make their dioramas. As they will proudly present their dioramas, our students will be able to reflect on their learning journey and appreciate the variety and the wonders of the animal kingdom.
